Story Circle Model
Vera Goodman, from The Vera Goodman Learning Society (VGLS), created “The Story Circle Model”. It closes the gap in oral language foundations, builds literacy skills through questioning, vocabulary, understanding and articulation. Further supporting the use of recalling, framing of sentences and critical thinking to improve oral language skills.
Training Facilitators
VGLS supports education and creative learning, through the power of collaboration, for increased opportunities for future literacy and learning. The beautiful simplicity of The Story Circle Model, “trains the trainer”, by allowing families and young children to utilize the skills taught, building opportunities for increased oral language skills.
Support for Communities
VGLS will provide this innovative literacy education to individuals, and their families, from underserved communities. The program will be hosted in accessible community hubs, in high-need areas.

VGLS has developed the Story Circle Model, as an engaging, transformational teaching tool, that encourages creativity, imagination, and literacy.
This Model addresses the inequities of learning across economic and social barriers, around the world. This Model will result in increased oral literacy skills, supporting children in their ability to bridge oral literacy to written language.
