Vera received her B.A. degree from Seattle Pacific University. She went on to get her M.A. degree in Language Arts from the University of Calgary. She spent over 30 years as a teacher in Regina, Sundre and Calgary. Over these years, she taught grades one to nine, and was in administration. She took special training with the National Writing Project, and was a popular workshop presenter to other teachers. She was a professional speaker and has spoken internationally to teachers and parents.
Vera passed at 87 years old and had spent a lifetime committed to finding better ways to deliver education. Combining all her unique approaches to learning, she created The Story Circle Model. Reading skills are built-in, but it goes beyond reading, to give participants strong communication skills, inspiration and much more.
